Black Satellites coach Jimmy Cobblah believes WAFU U-20 championship came at the right time

Head coach of the Black Satellites of Ghana, Jimmy Cobblah believes the WAFU U-20 championship came at the right time for him to assess his players ahead of the Africa U-20 championship next year. The Black Satellites left Ghana for Togo on Tuesday for the competition which begins today and following the team’s arrival in Lome, coach Cobblah revealed it is an opportunity for the players to justify their inclusion.“This tournament has come at the right time and we are set to have it as a starting point for preparation ahead of Africa Youth Championship,” he said.“The tournament will also assist as to access our players since most of them are locally based footballers in other to ensure we have a side that can create competition for the players”.“In our qualifiers we had five professional players we never brought on board, during our qualification some of our boys were scouted to Europe and we never brought them on board. So we have come with these players to see those that can do well so we select them to give our other boys a good competition”.Ghana are in group B with Nigeria, Niger and Benin.
